Rebuilding Together Alexandria Partners With Sears for Heroes at Home Program
Every Fall, a select number of Rebuilding Together affiliates are chosen to collaborate with Sears Holdings to provide special housing repairs for homes with current members of the military or with veterans living there in a program aptly named Heroes at Home. This year, Rebuilding Together Alexandria has been selected to receive a grant to work with Sears on the home of a wonderful family in need. We can't, however, do it alone. Sears has given us a registry to help us with materials we need for these repairs and for future homeowner repairs. Please check it out if you get the chance; every little bit helps. As always, thank you for your continued support of Rebuilding Together Alexandria. We couldn't do it without you.
Free VHDA First-Time Homebuyer Classes
Are you thinking about buying a home and don't know where to start? Rebuilding Together Alexandria offers free first-time homebuyer classes at sites across the City of Alexandria. On one Saturday or two weekday evenings, you will learn about the entire homebuying process.
Anyone interested in learning more about the homebuying process is encouraged to take the class. The VHDA first time homebuyers class is required if you are applying for a VHDA home loan and also required to participate in city of Alexandria homebuyer programs, especially A Home of Your Own. If you are purchasing a home with your spouse or another person with whom you will legally share financial responsibility for making mortgage payments, then both of you must complete the class prior to loan approval to quality for a VHDA mortgage.
Contact Kyle at (703) 836-1021 to reserve a seat for the class of your choice. All you need to provide to sign up is your name, phone number, and email address.
Our next class is Saturday, January 11 from 9:30am - 3:30pm. It will be located at The Charles Houston Recreation Center, 905 Wythe St., Alexandria, VA 22314 (English)
